My family and I spent 3 days at Riverdale. I had heard that the resort had been through some rough patches, but I was very impressed. There are 3 different pools with differing temperatures, making a fun trip under any weather conditions. Pools are clean for a natural mineral hot springs. Different renovations were being done while we were there and things really looked nice. My daughter had a blast. The room was nice also. The only issue we had was with the shower in the room. It runs of the hot springs and it was really hot. No cold water tie in. But not a big issue in my eyes. I have no complaints and would go back in a heartbeat.
I grew up going to Riverdale and have fond memories of the place. I gave it a 4 because I can see the people running it are doing a great job of bringing it back to its glory days and I appreciate that. I believe given time my rating will switch to a 5. Especially if they keep improving it. Thanks for fun!! My kids love it!
Growing up in Preston I've gone here tons of times with my family and friends. Some things for people to know. . . this place can be super fun and you can have a good time no matter what. However, it is often not quite as clean as you might want, the small slide has been closed for as long as I can remember, it's a little pricey, and depending on when you go it's possible that not all of the pools will be open. If I were coming from out of town, I would call ahead and verify what pools are open. . . and maybe even call a friend from Preston (if you have one) who could tell you what the current state of the pool is. The cleanliness can vary a lot in a fairly small time frame. As far as hot springs go (in southern Idaho and northern Utah) it really isn't bad. I would just keep my expectations fairly low and then hopefully be surprised by how good of a time I have when I get there.
We drove nearly all day to get here and when we arrived, our whole family was grumpy from spending hours on the road. Within a few minutes of arrival, we all took a quick dip in the mineral pool and magically my four-year-old daughter was cheerful again, my seven-year-old son had an ear to ear grin, and my husband and I felt relaxed and blissful. As we stayed for three days, we had ample opportunity to observe that the resort has been around for a while so there are some cosmetic issues indicating age, but the prices reflect that reality and overall it's a great value! Also Great service from the employees. When we needed assistance figuring out how to use the jetted hot tub in our hotel room, the front desk attendant gave immediate help. She came out to our room with patience and professionalism and showed us what to do. This is a unique type of resort with its natural mineral Hot Spring. The set up and prices make it very family friendly! We will definitely go again.
Under new management and getting things done. Pools are hot springs so the water is really nice and different pools for different wants. The slides are sweet and it is crazy how fast they are fixing and working on making it better. Very relaxing and worth supporting. Also great prices and great location. Swimming can suck when over crowded and this place has tons of space so that doesn't happen.
